After Images: Colours of Absence

The evening will begin with the screening of Colours of Absence, a national award-winning film directed by the noted film-maker Arun Khopkar. The film which was sponsored by The Gallery Arts Trust, Madras, is based on the life and work of the distinguished painter, Jehangir Sabavala.
The film will be introduced by the director. and after the screening, there will be a discussion of the issues involved in the making of films on art and artists. The panel which will conduct the discussion will include Ranjit Hoskote (poet, art critic, translator), Maithili Rao (freelance film critic), Mehli Gobhai (painter), and Imtiaz Dharkar (poet, painter, director).
