In the words of M. C. Joshi, Director General of Archaeological Survey of India, Benoy K. Behl’s technique of accurate photography in low light has “conquered darkness”- the luminosity and details of the murals of Ajanta are revealed in all their glory. The lecture, illustrated with slides, will analyse this technique.
Roshan Shahani, art critic, in her comments will elaborate on the great potential opened up for the study of new perspectives in the art of Ajanta.
