Ecological Explorations
Facilitator: Sareena Khemka
NGOs: Kotak Education Foundation and Udaan India Foundation
October 10, 2010 |10.30 am to 4.30 pm
Maharashtra Nature Park, Mumbai
This workshop will combine art and ecological explorations at the Maharashtra Nature Park, a former dump yard now transformed into a verdant forest. The children will do a nature walk with a park guide and will discuss its history that is on a land-fill, an inspirational story about environmental care. The artist will work with the children to create artworks with natural materials from the park, and this will be followed by planting of new saplings on soil that still contains old plastic – a reminder of the city’s waste.
