Children & Culture

Children & Culture was an educational initiative created in 2008 to reach out directly to disadvantaged communities. It aimed to nurture creativity and experiential learning through art, design, performance, science, mathematics, language and ecology. It provided integrated learning in education to children and teachers from thirty NGOs in Mumbai who are associated with municipal schools and government-aided institutions.

Through new collaborations, it introduced children from private and public schools to the studios of contemporary artists for workshops that emphasized on visual literacy, cognitive processes and cultural dialogues. These culminated in exhibitions, presentations by children, and seminars for principals, teachers, and parents in various cultural spaces to infuse innovation in classrooms.
