Historically, the city of Calcutta and Bengal at large, became a centre for the Bengal Renaissance and its outcomes in art, literature and culture is longstanding. In these presentations, artists, art historians and academicians will chart out the historical context, and place contemporary practices through the sites of Calcutta and Santiniketan. Through institutional deliberations at Kalabhavana, Viswabharati University and Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, the speakers will talk about curatorial projects and experimentation through a variety of media in the contemporary scenario of Bengal.
