Forms of Drawing

Drawing is a very important and basic part of painting. Line and construction of drawing can create many expressions depending on the material used. Each material such as charcoal, pencil, pen, ink and dry brush can create different kinds of lines and expressions. The workshop will be conducted by the renowned artist Manu Parikh who will demonstrate how line is important for a drawing and how drawing is important for a painting.
There will be a flexible mix of practical work, lectures, group discussions, question-answer sessions and slide/video presentations. The participants will be senior level students from selected art schools and colleges. An exhibition of the works created during the workshop will be put up in the Jehangir Nicholson Gallery at the NCPA.
