Sewri Fort, Mumbai
As part of the public art project, [En]counters: The Fluid City, Pradeep Mishra’s ‘Flowing Freedom’ recuperated a lost harmony between human intervention and nature as he hoisted a series of animal-embroidered flags on the iconic Sewri Fort that overlooks a rich mangrove forest attracting exotic species of migratory birds. Laxmikant Deshpande of the Environment Management Centre (EMC) conducted a walk through the mangroves at the Sewri bay and fort where he discussed the issue of mangrove ecosystems and coastal bio-diversity.
