The lecture seeks to address some problems specifically in art practice, its meta-narratives generated through the practice of criticism and some pertinent questions that are thrown up in the interface between tradition and modernism.

The lecture aims to analyse a historical progression as a set of simultaneous equations, or as intersecting discourses that contribute in their interaction, to the manifestations that make up a picture of our times.
