The discussion will center on the history of manufacturing and industry that has shaped Mumbai. Sudhir Patwardhan will show slides of his paintings that depict mills and neighborhoods around it and provide insights into his creative responses, sharing his interpretation of this important dimension of the city’s history. Shekhar Krishnan will narrate some of his photography of the mills and docks in Central Mumbai with a discussion on the social and spatial transformations in Mumbai’s industrial landscapes.
