Recognized as one of the most eminent historians of tribal and folk arts of India, Jyotindra Jain holds an M.A. in Ancient Indian Culture from the University of Bombay and a Ph.D. in Anthropology and Indology from the University of Vienna. He has conducted extensive ethnographic research in several states in India and exhibitions curated by him have been shown in India and several countries abroad. At present he is the Director of the Crafts Museum, New Delhi.
He will speak on his research on the tradition and contemporaneity of Indian folk and tribal art, and their diversity of aesthetic criteria.
